Hello, I'm Kristyn! I'm a wife to my wonderful husband Sean, new mom to my sweet daughter Makenna, and proud dog-mom to Millie the labradoodle! I am a creative soul and lover of all things classic, gold and neutral. Oh, and I absolutely adore documenting families and the moments they share. I believe that family is such a gift, and that capturing these memories with your loved ones truly is "priceless". After years of dreaming of a bright, beautiful studio space to call my own, I finally had the opportunity to bring this dream to life in 2020 when we built our new home in south Calgary. We outgrew the home studio quickly and are now so excited to be in a commercial studio space in downtown Calgary! I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years, photographing newborns for 8 years, and also fell in love with documenting milestone sessions like cake smashes, intimate maternity sessions and "sitter" sessions after opening the studio. Having our studio space has given us the opportunity to photograph families all year round and establish Studio Lumiere as one of Calgary's top newborn, maternity & milestone photography studios. Hello! I’m Mackenzie, the gal behind the second camera at Studio Lumiere. Born and raised in Calgary, I surprisingly met my incredible husband Randy in North Carolina where I attended NC State University on a full ride scholarship for gymnastics. Fast forward and we now have a wonderful, busy toddler whom we named Raleigh after the city where we first met. She was the Disney World surprise we did not know we needed, and now we cannot imagine our lives without her. My lifelong dream has always been to be a mother, and after documenting so many families at the studio, I am beyond grateful to have a family of my own. Kristyn and I had our baby girls just under 4 months apart and I cannot wait to raise them together to be best friends (while taking way too many photos of them together in the process.) Studio Lumiere is such an incredible place to work, I have been photographing families there since we opened the downtown studio in 2021. I am absolutely elated to be a part of this team, and so very fortunate to be a part of capturing the memories that your family can cherish for years to come. I cannot wait to meet you!

We truly believe that family is the greatest gift there is - that is one of the reasons why we became newborn and family photographers. There are so many important and wonderful moments to document... the anticipation of your baby's arrival and then finally becoming a parent, the way they fit so perfectly into your arms once they arrive, your fingers intertwined with their tiny fingers and toes. They say the days are long but the years are short, and all of the sudden your tiny newborn is laughing, crawling, and showing their unique personality. You blink a few more times, and somewhere in between the never ending diaper changes, sleepless nights, moments of doubt, they're a year old and digging their little hands into their first birthday cake. There are so many special moments and milestones amongst the busyness of every day life, and we want to help you to document them. As new parents ourselves, we also know that the last thing you have time for is shopping for picture-perfect outfits, creating albums, the list goes on! We are here for you, every step of the way.

We had such a lovely experience working with Kristyn! She was so organized, very professional and most importantly, her photographs are absolutely beautiful! She scoped out the best spots for gorgeous lighting on a summer evening and was incredibly patient and sweet while capturing the most precious moments with our newborn twins.
